The first event of the 2026 TOWSA                                 Open Water Swim Series is the Pool to Pool.  Proudly sponsored by North Queensland Insurance Brokers (NQIB).  Two events will be held - each event offering two ocean swim distances: 1km and 2km.  Event One is for Children under 18 years of age and Event Two is for adults 18 years and over.

The 2km Pool to Pool events will commence at the Rockpool on the northern end of the Strand and finish at Tobruk Pool on the southern end of the Strand. 

The 1km events will commence at Strand Park Beach and finish at Tobruk Pool.

ON THE DAY

Registration opens at 6:00am at the Rockpool end of the Strand. 

The briefing will be held at 6:40am on the beach near the Rockpool.  ​​Following the briefing, the 1km swimmers will walk to the Strand Park Beach to commence their event.  Event One (children) will commence at 7:00am.

NOTE: Children under 18 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times, including registration, swim briefing, swim start and swim finish.  Any unaccompanied children will be disqualified from this event and referred to the Child Safety Officer until a parent or guardian can be located.

Event Two (adult swimmers) will commence at 7:05am.

Bag drop will be provided.  Please ensure your bag is small, securely closed and clearly labelled with your name.
